"He has been proclaimed the Danish Belcanto tenor of his generation. Numerous press critics have called him the quintessence of a born singer: His voice delivers with ease and with no sense of strain the most beautiful and lyrical sound- accompanied by great intensity and a rare acting ability on the opera stage..."
This was the introduction on Danish National Radio given by a Music journalist recently, and in many ways it sums up beautifully his career so far. Since 2002 Sune Hjerrild has sung in both Opera and Concert halls in most parts of the World, and where ever he goes he is well received by his audience and well respected by his colleagues.

Belmonte was portrayed with a fine expression and agility in the play by Sune Hjerrild. Here is a true lyrical tenor with a noble sound and a secure sense of musicality. He can look forward to a great future.
Introduction given by the Danish National Radio Symphony Orchestra.

W. A. Mozart Die Zauberflöte at Megaron, Athens
Eleytherotypia newpaper-review by Yannis Svolos
"The two young couples of the protagonists had been almost equal with Rachel Harnisch and the sweetvoiced Sune Hjerrild being a little bit superior."
Kathimerini newspaper-review by Nikos Dontas :
"Rainer Trost would seem to be the perfect cast for Tamino, but Sune Hjerrild had some better moments."
Der Nordschleswieger:
Outdoor Opera Gala
The orchestra also brought in a real Italien Tenor, even though he's not Italien by birth, but his voice type is a real tenor, to quote the chef conductor. The audience could certainly enjoy him singing Verdi and Puccini.
Anaclase.com, Bertrand Bolognesi. Idomeneo Tourcoing,
... he is a perfect cast for the role, and the refinement of his singing, very expressive, is delicious to listen to in the last act.«
